from L&M Companion, the Kite family entry The brother [of Margaret, mother of Sam] was William, a Whitechapel butcher, who died in 1652. His widow Julian married Elias or Ellis Clarke, and died in 1661, Pepys and Thomas Fenner acting as her executors. Her daughter Peg Kite (who received a legacy of L80 from her father) was married in 1661 to a weaver, whom Pepys does not name, but calls 'a beggarly rogue'.
