Jane is the sister of Sam's dad, John. She married John Perkin. "They had a son Frank, a miller (who after 1661 took up the fiddle for a livelihood)....There were also three daughters --Jane (who was brought up by her uncle Robert Pepys of Brampton), Mary and Elizabeth....The mother and children received small legacies from Robert Pepys...."
