"Sir Robert Hyde, first cousin of the great Earl of Clarendon, born 1595. He was a staunch Royalist, and immediately after the Restoration he was knighted and appointed a judge of the Common Pleas. On October 19th, 1663, he was promoted to the Chief Justiceship of the King's Bench. He died May 1st, 1665, and is buried in Saulsbury Cathedral."
