Daughter of William, Duke of Hamilton, wife of Lord Carnegy, who became Earl of Southesk on his father’s death. She is frequently mentioned in the “Memoires de Grammont,” and in the letters of the second Earl of Chesterfield. — B.

Lady Anne Hamilton was born between 1639 and 1649.1 She was the daughter of Sir William Hamilton, 2nd Duke of Hamilton and Lady Elizabeth Maxwell.1 She married Robert Carnegie, 3rd Earl of Southesk, son of James Carnegie, 2nd Earl of Southesk and Lady Mary Kerr, on 5 July 1664.1 She died in October 1695.

From 5 July 1664, her married name became Carnegie.
