The Hooke papers as mentioned by TerryF in the 2006 annotation above were saved by the Wellcome Trust who gifted the Royal Society the funds needed to buy them. They have all been digitised by the Society and are available to be viewed here online.

It’s a wonder they didn’t require pre-booking/ticketing of seats at the theatre. Has Sam ever failed to get into a popular show? They just seemed to chance it and turn up back then. Can’t imagine that working these days on a big new show!

I would suggest that poor Elizabeth was suffering from Endometriosis. It can cause very painful, debilitating periods and it also affects fertility, causing difficulties in getting pregnant…
