Newton appears twice in the diary
Pepys takes his "old comrade" for a breakfast drink on 27 January 1660 where Newton "as he alway did, did talk very high," commenting on politics and his ability to get a job in government if he wanted one. Pepys enjoyed his company so much he stayed with him for hours.
Apparently, Newton knows Tom Doling and Betty Lane, because they and Pepys are talking about him on 3 November 1660.
