If you use Mastodon you might like to know that Samuel Pepys is now “tooting” there as @samuelpepys@mastodon.social.
Mastodon is a social network that’s a bit like Twitter, but isn’t run by a single organisation, and its software is all open source. It’s currently a little more confusing than Twitter, but has better controls over privacy and has no adverts.
It’s not yet widely used but it was a simple alteration to make the code that posts to @samuelpepys on Twitter also post to Mastodon — the two accounts feature the same texts at the same times.
