Coming up soon at London’s Old Vic theatre is 17c, a play about Pepys. From the website:
This is Samuel Pepys. Completely unfiltered.
From his infidelities, to his perversions, to his meetings with the King, to his bunions, Pepys recorded it all in his diary. He had a compulsion to report every minute of his daily life and to examine himself through the pages.
17c splices contemporary dance, spoken word, video and music in this witty, fast-paced and feminist exploration of the tell-all diaries, taking apart Pepys’ character and giving voices to the women in his life – in particular his tragic wife, Bess.
It’s conceived and directed by Annie-B Parson, and performed by New York City based company Big Dance Theater. It runs from 26 to 29 September 2018.

Greetings! My name is Kourtney, and I play an annotator from pepysdiary.com in 17c. I hope to be able to meet some real life (online) annotators at the upcoming shows at the Old Vic. Let me know if you will be there! www.bigdancetheater.org

I went to see the show last night and it was a lot of fun! Dance, movement, music, monologues, video, and other little scenes based on lots of aspects of the diary over the years. Well done Kourtney and co. I can only imagine what Sam would have made of the performance...
(Disclosure: After I posted this news item the Old Vic offered me free tickets.)
